Sat, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Plein air painting is about leaving the four walls of your dwelling behind and experiencing painting and drawing outdoors to capture the landscape. The workshop will begin with an informative demonstration followed by coached student painting with individual instruction. Throughout the day, there will be numerous topics discussed such as composition, values, various wash options, contrast, textural techniques and choice of art materials. This is a great alternative to on-line learning in which you can safely try your hand at capturing the beauty of autumn in New England!

For semi-experienced water colorists with their own materials. Beginners are welcome and will be provided a materials list. One day workshop (with a one hour lunch break). The HCA will supply students with a table, table easel and chair. In the event of inclement weather, the workshop will be rescheduled. Instructor: Richard Denzer.
