Summer Theater - Show in a Week (Magic in Me - Musical)

Grades: 4th-8th

Days: Mon - Fri

Class Time: 09:00 AM- 03:00 PM

+ More Info

A play presented each week! Using well loved stories, students will learn, stage and perform a play (musical or non-musical) for family and friends in just one week. Creativity abounds in this fun workshop that will include improv and acting games.

Magic In Me emphasizes how special each person is.  Equipped with nothing more than a toy shovel and pail, little Do-Nothing Dale appears to be a wizard in name only.  Laughed at and excluded by her colleagues, Magnificent Mervin and Wonder Wanda, Dale sets out on a journey to find her own “little bit of magic.”  Queen Marilyn Melody of Musicland and Coco the Clown, King of Laughterland, do their best to help her, but it’s not until her encounter with the evil Weatherman on the Planet of Sad Flowers that Dale discovers just what it is that makes her unique.

Summer Theater - Show in a Week (Simply Cinderella

Grades: 4th-8th

Days: Mon - Fri

Class Time: 09:00 AM- 03:00 PM

+ More Info

A play presented each week! Using well loved stories, students will learn, stage and perform a play (musical or non-musical) for family and friends in just one week. Creativity abounds in this fun workshop that will include improv and acting games.

Simply Cinderella (non-musical)

Overworked and under-appreciated Cinderella swings her broom at the Fairy Godmother, thinking she’s a giant moth.  Meanwhile, Queen Hobnail wants Prince Shubert to choose a suitable princess, but he would rather play video games than dance with a girl.  The beleaguered Fairy Godmother manages to bring the two together, at least until midnight, while Cinderella’s stepmother and stepsisters wait for the other shoe to drop.  This upbeat, slap-happy fractured fairy tale will delight performers and audiences alike.

Unhappily Ever After - The Musical:

A counselor has opened an office to see how various fairy tale characters are getting along.  He quickly discovers that nobody has lived ’happily ever after’ at all!  Sleeping Beauty will do nothing but nap, the Frog Prince refuses to give up his amphibian ways and nothing will pry Cinderella away from her beloved cinders.  The counselor sets about making everything right again, with equally disastrous results.  Added to the fractured fairy tale fun are five catchy musical numbers, cameo roles for a chorus of fairy tale characters and plenty of silliness for everybody involved!

Summer Theater - Show in a Week (Unhappily Ever After musical)

Grades: 4th-8th

Days: Mon - Fri

A play presented each week! Using well loved stories, students will learn, stage and perform a play (musical or non-musical) for family and friends in just one week. Creativity abounds in this fun workshop that will include improv and acting games.
