The Hopkinton Center for the Arts offers year-round classes and workshops for adults and children in the visual and performing arts. Classes are taught by experienced instructors and are tailored for beginning and advanced students in the visual and performing arts. Young adults are welcome to enroll in most adult courses. Learn basic off-press printmaking techniques using non-toxic water base inks and plexiglass plates to produce one-of-a-kind prints. Students will learn how to apply found materials and plants to create interesting textures and compositions. Original prints will then be combined with other paper sources such as colored tissue, magazine, and newspaper to create finished collages. Tuesdays - 6 classes

Are you still getting to know your digital camera and its features? Here’s an opportunity to learn from an expert in this seminar for beginners! Bring your camera and learn when and how to use its special features, such as program mode, manual mode, aperture priority and shutter priority. Also covered will be basic composition and best use of light for different situations, such as plant, people, macro, and landscape photography.

Winter is a season of rest, darkness and quietude. It is the perfect time to tend to our spirit and nourish our creativity. Guided by Janine Grillo Marra, we will explore the potentiality that naturally exists at this time of year, as well as the greater potentiality that is always within us. In a warm, nurturing environment we will practice together:

  • simple, guided meditation
  • super fun and easy-to-follow Shake Your Soul® Dance (movement class focused on creativity, fun and great music)
  • gentle and relaxing movement
  • restful floor yoga
  • mini Reiki (energy healing) treatment

All are welcome - no prior experience necessary. Yoga equipment is available, but you are welcome to bring your own favorite items.
To maintain an intimate setting, space is limited for this retreat, so register soon.
