Calligraphy & Hand Lettering (Youth)

Grades: 4th-8th

Days: Saturday

Class Time: 11:00 AM- 12:30 PM

+ More Info

There has been an explosion of hand lettering and calligraphy in design and decoration. Everywhere you look hand lettering appears on rustic board signs, coffee cups, napkins, notebooks and tote bags. Why buy a premade sign when you can make your own personal statement? With techniques and practice through a series of projects, you can learn how to hand letter for fun. Although this class focuses on modern brush pen style calligraphy, if we have time students can try other methods as their interest leads them such as using a felt chisel point, dip pens and cartridge pens. Each class will start with warm up exercises and students will be given worksheets they can practice on if they wish outside of class. Instructor: Meredith Fitzgerald. 8 classes. This class is offered onsite only. Space is limited for on-site programs in order to be compliant with the Massachusetts guidelines for gatherings.
