About the event
Enter Stage Left Theater, the resident theater company of Hopkinton Center for the Arts, is pleased to announce auditions for an original music revue directed by Mark DiCampo.  Following the success of original theme music revues including, Brought to Light, Americana, Schwartz Scrapbook, and Sondheim at the Movies, Mark DiCampo is inviting adults to join his latest musical revue. Songs for Grown-Ups is about turning points, life’s ironies, coping with loss, laughing at our own weaknesses, and empowering ourselves to keep looking forward.
This revue will feature different musical theater writers (such as Craig Carnelia, Jason Robert, Brown, Kander & Ebb, and Stephen Sondheim) and will include songs for full ensemble, small ensembles, and soloists. The final song list will be chosen according to the strengths of each performer and will be determined before the first rehearsal. Â All songs will be assigned by the director based on auditions/callbacks. Performers will have a choice of auditioning on Sunday, October 1st or Tuesday, October 3rd beginning at 7 p.m. Â Please email us to set up an audition appointment: info@hopartscenter.org
For the audition, be prepared to sing, from memory, approximately 1–2 minutes of a song that best shows your acting and singing abilities. Please bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided. No a cappella auditions or pre-recorded tracks, please. You will be notified after your audition if we would like to hear you sing anything from the show at callbacks. Callbacks will be held on Sunday, October 15th starting at 5 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 17th starting at 6:30 p.m.
