An introductory level course on handbuilding and learning to use a pottery wheel. Beginners will learn to wedge clay, form clay on the wheel, and basic hand building and decorating techniques. Continuing students can learn new techniques and refine their skills. Tuition includes 25 lbs. of clay, glazes, and firing. (Adult classes also include open studio time). A basic toolkit will need to be purchased.

Thursdays 8 classes / Class size is limited to 4 people.

Please note that under Massachusetts Covid-19 guidelines, masks must be worn in the ceramics studio at all times.

For those who wish to take a break from the computer screen and interact with students in a setting that allows for social distancing, they are welcome to take the class at the HCA while the teacher Zooms in to provide instruction.

Experiment with Watercolor Painting

Learn about color, papers, brushes, drawing and composition, as well as many great painting techniques that will get you working and playing with watercolors! Instructor Sarah Alexander will provide 90 minutes of online instruction via Zoom. Instructor Sarah Alexander will also offer a mid week brief one on one or "check in" session to each student if the want advice on art in progress  between classes.

8 classes. A materials list will be provided. A laptop, tablet or video-conferencing device and a reliable internet connection are required for this class.
