Strengthen your skills and understanding of the craft of acting in this 10-week practical studio class designed for adult students. Explore self-selected and prepared scripted scenes and monologues to deepen your understanding of character, refine your performance, learn reliable skills and techniques, and gain new insight into acting and auditioning. Students will learn through performance and/or observation in this weekly master class.
Students must independently memorize and prepare in advance scripted 2–3 minute monologues or 6–8 minute scenes (serious or comic) from a publishedstage play of their choice. Participants should read the entire play from which their material is chosen. When working on monologues, students must select an uninterrupted speech (not dialogue cobbled together). Please refrain from selecting movie or television scripts.

Drawing is one of the most relaxing ways to de-stress and express yourself creatively! This course for beginners will explore basic drawing skills using various mark making media including, graphite, ink and charcoal. A simple materials list will be provided to students. 6 classes. Instructor: Lee Ball. This is a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to connect via Zoom each week to take a class together! For those who wish to take a break from the computer screen and interact with students in a setting that allows for social distancing, they are welcome to take the class at the HCA while the teacher Zooms in to provide instruction.
You don't need to commit to a multi-week class. This on-site workshop can be taken at the HCA on a week-to-week basis to allow you flexibility!
Learn the unlimited creative potential of using various materials and types of paint to create unique pieces of art. Art is a wonderful way to reduce stress and have fun! This fun, online class will involve creating unique pieces of art that connect to science, history, and math. Excellent for the development of fine motor skills and cognitive fuctions. An art kit is included in the tuition for this program.
