Feb Vacation: Virtual Movie Making Mini course

This 3-day workshop will allow students to plot out short films and sketches using their iPhone or iPad. Each day will cover different lessons, mapping out individual student home movie ideas and time for feedback and sharing ideas with other students. Students will send their files to the instructor for editing into a final presentation for each student based on the submitted footage. Topics covered in this workshop will cover storyboarding, stop animation, filmmaking transition techniques and more!

Previously titled "Landscape/Nature Drawing", this class will explore beyond landscapes to include a variety of techniques drawing from observation those objects that are all around them in the HCA building (as opposed to drawing from photographs). Each class will cover various techniques that will build to a final project.  Students will be encouraged to do independent sketching in between classes. 

This is an on-site HCA class and limited to 8 students - grades 6th and up. Instructor Marion Buricatu. 8 classes in this session

Learn to use a pottery wheel as well as create pottery and small sculptures using handbuilding techniques. Beginners will learn to form clay on the wheel and apply surface decoration. Continuing students welcome. Class includes demonstrations and personal instruction. Tuition includes clay, glazes, and firing. Thursdays - 8 classes. Instructor Cheska Kommisar. Please note that under Massachusetts Covid-19 guidelines, masks must be worn in the ceramics studio at all times. Class size is limited to 4 people.
