Although this workshop is intended for adults, teens and kids over the age of 10 are welcome to join. There is no cost to participate, but if you can, we ask that you consider making a donation when you register for the class. Your donation helps support the Hopkinton Center for the Arts and its programs.
You only need to register once per household. Materials recommended: paper or drawing pad, sharpie (fine point and/or extra fine point), pencil, eraser, colored pencils and a ruler, but you can also use markers, oil pastels and paint.

Everywhere you look hand lettering appears on rustic board signs, coffee cups, napkins, notebooks and tote bags. Why buy a premade sign when you can make your own personal statement? With techniques and practice through a series of projects, you can learn how to hand letter for fun. Although this class focuses on modern brush pen style calligraphy, if we have time students can try other methods as their interest leads them such as using a felt chisel point, dip pens and cartridge pens. Each class will start with warm up exercises and students will be given worksheets they can practice on if they wish outside of class. Instructor: Meredith Fitzgerald. 8 classes. Learn the unlimited creative potential of using various materials and types of paint to create unique pieces of art. Art is a wonderful way to reduce stress and have fun! All materials will be provided. This is an on-site class only at the HCA. Space is limited for on-site programs in order to be compliant with the Massachusetts guidelines for gatherings and social distancing.

This fun, online class will involve creating unique pieces of art that connect to science, history, and math. Excellent for the development of fine motor skills and cognitive fuctions. An art kit is included in the tuition for this program.
