Hopkinton Early Release Workshop: Old Book Page Wreath

Turn an old book and sheet music into a rustic looking wreath. Using the pages from old books and old music scores, roll, crumple, pinch, or cut paper pages into a variety of textural shapes and assemble into a beautiful vintage looking wreath. All materials provided.  Instructor Joyce Firth

Based on the works of Louise Nevelson, create an intriguing sculpture from old, broken, discarded found objects. Experience the way attention to placement within a space can make unrelated objects interact with each other to create a 3-dimensional work of art that is both crazy and captivating! All materials are provided. 2 hour class to assemble. They will be available for pick up at HCA after November 20. Instructor Joyce Firth

Students will work on skills in a structured class format to include barre work, center, and elements across the floor. Emphasis is placed on form, musicality, coordination, expression, and working together as a corps. A portion of class remains dedicated to creative dance and individual expression. Many performing opportunities are available for students at this level. Ages 8-11. Enrollment is for the 2019-2020 school year. Price is based on one class a week for 36 weeks. Additional discounts are available for multiple dance classes taken per week. Tuition is pro-rated based on the start date of the student. Flexible payment plans available. Learning to sing in tune and learning musical concepts through singing establishes deep musical understanding and confidence in a budding musician. Students will learn melody, part singing, and harmony as they progress through the program. This class is a great way to introduce kids to healthy, relaxed singing! For grades 2nd – 5th.
