Summer Program Guidelines

Summer Program Guidelines For Parents

Prior to arriving at the HCA

Parents are strongly urged to not bring their child to the HCA if they are exhibiting any signs of illness

For full day programs, parent should send with their child the following:
Note: the ceramics and dance programs run independently of general progamming events and activities.

We recommend that you place your child’s items in a backpack and label their items. Please also label the outside of their backpack with their name.

  • Lunch & Snack(s) / Please do not pack any food that contains nuts.
  • Sunscreen Bug spray Reusable water bottle*
  • Face mask (optional) Hat (optional) Sunglasses (optional)
  • Towel and change of clothes (Thursday Water Day)

*Tip: Freeze your child’s water bottle overnight and by the time their first break comes, their water will have thawed but remain cool. 

 

A word about face coverings & medications:

The HCA follows the guidelines of the State and local Board of Health with regards to Covid protocols. At this time, face coverings are recommended but not required.

The HCA’s head counselors are all CPR-certified and each classroom is equipped with a first aid kit for minor cuts and scrapes. Ice packs will be on hand as needed. Please note that (with the exception of an epi-pen) our staff cannot administer medications. If your child has an epi-pen or needs to take medication during their time at the HCA, please alert us in advance so that we are aware. Also, if your child has other needs that require accommodation, please send an email to Tatiana@hopartscenter.org  

DO NOT BRING: Please do not pack toys/balls or anything that could be shared with other students. Also, no food that contains nut products (in case of allergies).

 

Food & Beverage Guidelines

All staff/students must provide for their own meals/snacks/beverages. At no time will peanut products be allowed at the HCA. The HCA will alert instructors and CITs of other potential food allergies communicated by parents.

 

Drop-off and Pick-up Directions

If your child is feeling ill, we recommend that they remain at home. In that event, please email us that your child will not be in attendance to info@hopartscenter.org

 

Art Adventures, Musical Theater Fun for Kids and Ceramics students will enter/exit the parking lot facing Hopkins Rd. All other programs: the entrance to the High School parking lot.

For Fine Arts Academy, Show in a Week & Movie-Making Only

  • Parents will remain in their cars for drop-off & pick-up. Please refer to the map enclosed to know where to queue up. Drop-off can occur anytime between 8:30–9:00 a.m. Pick-up is between 2:45–3:00 p.m. 
  • A staff member will be outside the drop-off area to check off your child’s name, give them their name badge and direct them where to go. Please alert the staffer if anyone other than a parent will be pick-up your child on any given day, or if you will need to pick-up your child earlier than the scheduled pick-up time. 
  • Students registered for the “After Arts” extended day program must be picked no later than 5:45 p.m. Since pick-up times may vary by student, the parent/guardian must come inside to the HCA’s front desk to pick up their child. 

 

For ART ADVENTURES and MUSICAL THEATER FUN FOR KIDS Only

  • Parents should park in the lot that faces Hopkins Rd.  
  • Accompany your child and check in at the front desk. A staff member will be on hand at the front desk to guide your child where they need to go. Please alert the staffer if anyone other than a parent will be pick-up your child on any given day, or if you will need to pick-up your child earlier than the scheduled pick-up time. 

 

Art Adventures Drop off: 8:45–9:00 a.m. at the front desk
Art Adventures Pick-up: 12:15–12:30 p.m. at the front desk (for kids who are not stay for the afternoon musical theater program)

Musical Theater Fun for Kids Drop off: 11:30–11:45 a.m. at the front desk (for those kids who are not coming for Art Adventures in the morning).
Musical Theater Fun for Kids Pick-up: 2:45–3:00 p.m. at the front desk. 

 

Ceramics Studio Drop-off and Pick-up: Enter and Exit from the  Hopkins Road side.
