Family is number one in most everyone’s book. It’s the same with Enter Stage Left Theater. Whether you are new to our organization or have been with us a long time, when you are with ESL, you are part of our family. Family can be defined as a group of people united by certain convictions or a common affiliation— a fellowship. We are also thrilled that so many families have become a part of ESL, allowing them to connect in ways they may never have before. And what a thrill it is to see young children join the ESL family and to watch them grow into thriving teens and confident adults.

ZING: a lively, energetic, almost magical quality that excites emotion. At ESL, it’s the special moments of joy, love, passion and compassion that we strive to evoke on stage, create for our audiences, and experience for ourselves. It’s the fun and laughter we enjoy; and the connection we feel and want our audiences to walk away with. It goes beyond just performing. Seeking the “zing” is going for that unexpected skip of the heart. It’s the very magic of what we love to share. It’s that special thing that only live performance can bring.

Commitment begins with committing ourselves to putting on great productions… great writing, great directing, great producing, great music, great individual performances, great cast collaborations, and great crew. It’s about committing to quality and personal growth––our own as well as those we help along the way. We work together to continuously develop our craft while helping others to evolve theirs. It’s about having confidence in our product high quality community theater. 

At Enter Stage Left Theater, we are committed to inspiring you to discover or rekindle your passion for theater. We love it when people tell us they pushed themselves out of their comfort zones to become part of an ESL event and are so happy they did! The journey from nervous fear about auditioning, to receiving encouragement that what you are doing is special, to the joy of creating and sharing this wonderful gift of live theater is one we feel very passionate about. And we hope to inspire that passion in everyone who joins us, in whatever facet they choose. 

Theater is a wonderful vehicle that enables andencourages imagination and creativity. From the beginning of a production to the end, there are so many opportunities to let imaginations go and embrace new discovery. We encourage creative energy from all who participate whether behind the scenes or in front of the audience. Usually the result is something that everyone is not only proud of, but that inspires the creative process and a spirit of discovery in each new program, production or event. 

Anyone who has ever been involved in any kind of production knows that there are many obstacles to overcome. But that’s what we love about live performances. When faced with desperation, we are forced to rise to the challenge. And what a feeling it is when we do! At ESL, we believe that what others may say “no” to, we say “yes” to and we put together to imagine how get it done. In every show there is the moment where you say ‘this isn’t going to happen’ but then magically it does, because we find a way. As the song goes, “I can do that!”
