Everyone Deserves the Opportunity to Experience the Arts

At the Hopkinton Center for the Arts, we believe that the arts should be accessible to everyone. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and community supporters, we offer a limited Financial Assistance Program to help individuals and families experiencing financial hardship participate in our classes, lessons, camps, and productions.

Our goal is to remove financial barriers whenever possible while ensuring that our limited scholarship funds can help as many members of our community as possible.

How Financial Assistance Works
Financial assistance is awarded based on:

• Demonstrated financial need

• Available scholarship funding

• Space available in the requested program

• Completion of the application and required documentation
   

Because scholarship funds and class availability are limited, submitting an application does not guarantee an award. Some high-demand classes and programs may not be eligible for financial assistance if they have reached capacity or have extensive waitlists. Whenever possible, we will work with applicants to identify comparable programs with scholarship availability.

Awards may cover all or a portion of program tuition, depending on demonstrated need and available funding.

Who May Apply
Financial assistance is available for children, teens, and adults who would otherwise be unable to participate due to financial circumstances.

Applications are reviewed confidentially by designated HCA staff. All personal and financial information is kept private and used solely to determine eligibility for financial assistance.

Documentation Required
To help us distribute scholarship funds fairly, applicants will be asked to provide documentation verifying financial need. Applicants should redact all personal information (other than their name and address) before submitting the form. Examples include:

• Most recent federal tax return (first page only)

• SNAP, WIC, or MassHealth benefits

• Free or Reduced-Price School Meals eligibility

• SSI, SSDI, or unemployment benefits

• Housing assistance documentation

• Other documentation demonstrating financial hardship
   

Only one form of documentation is typically required.

Scholarship Guidelines
Please review the following before applying:

• Financial assistance is awarded for one program at a time.

• A new application is required for future scholarship consideration.

• Scholarships are not transferable between participants or programs.

• Recipients are expected to attend regularly and notify HCA if they must withdraw.

• Families may receive financial assistance for up to two programs per calendar year unless additional assistance is approved based on extraordinary circumstances.

• Financial assistance cannot be applied retroactively to registrations that have already been paid.
