The HCA is looking for volunteers (individuals or groups) to support our operational needs in different areas and positions. This is a great opportunity for adults or students looking to fulfill community service hours.

Our volunteers will train with staff members and work with staff and community members on special projects and general ongoing endeavors.

Summer Counselors in Training (CIT) will be role models for the HCA community, responsible for helping an instructor with setting up/cleaning up, assisting students, conducting age-appropriate games, and other operational tasks.

Application Period: January 1–May 1st, 2024

Rising 8th-11th graders who have not previously volunteered with HCA:

HCA will be collaborating with Metrowest YMCA to provide a work-readiness camp for select CITs following an interview process. This will involve students registering for a training program either the week of June 24-28, or July 1-5 (with the exception of July 4th) before they can volunteer as a CIT for HCA. (HCA may be able to provide partial funding if the student demonstrates financial need). The training provided will be a resume booster and prepare students for transferable skills as they enter the workforce or continue to volunteer with organizations. More information will be discussed during the interview process.  Upon completing the training, students will be required to give HCA 2-4 weeks of volunteer services. In the event that a student applicant is unavailable to attend either of those weeks of training but have at least one year of experience working with kids, they should still apply.

Returning HCA Volunteers (rising 9th-12th graders)

Students who have previously volunteered as a classroom assistant or summer CIT at HCA will need to complete an interview and, if selected, attend mandatory one-day training at HCA that will be provided mid-June at no cost.

CIT Application Process:

Submit an application indicating your (your teen's) interest through the online form here.

All applications are due by April 30th. All questions should be emailed to Stephanie Madden: stephanie@hopartscenter.org.
