Indulge the mom in your life with a unique one-hour concert, a harmonious blend of harpist Yvonne Cox and flutist Kate Davison. With a repertoire spanning classical music, this event promises something for everyone to savor.
Bring the whole family along! This inclusive event includes dessert, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, as well as coloring supplies for the little ones. They can create cards for the occasion, adding a personal touch to the event. This concert is sponsored by Scott's Landscaping, which generously supports it.
Guests are encouraged to come before or stay after the concert to see HCA's annual Arts in Bloom exhibition in the Lotvin Family Gallery. The pieces will be interpreted with floral arrangements provided by members of the Hopkinton Garden Club.
About the performers:
Yvonne Cox is a charismatic harpist influenced by various musical genres and artistic mediums. She is a versatile musician who frequently performs a diverse range of musical styles, including solo, orchestral, chamber, and contemporary works.
Ms. Cox has attended many music festivals throughout the United States and Canada, such as the PRISMA Festival Orchestra in Powell River, British Columbia; the Miami Classical Music Festival in South Beach, Miami, Florida; and the Brevard Music Center Orchestra in North Carolina.
Kate Davison, flutist and piccoloist, teach and perform throughout Boston and the greater Boston area. She recently earned a piccolo certificate from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Catherine Payne, the piccoloist of the San Francisco Symphony. In San Francisco, she appeared with the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players and the SF Ballet Orchestra. Kate was the principal flutist at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and a semi-finalist in the Jacqueline Avent concerto competition.
Before her San Francisco ventures, Kate earned a master's degree with honors at the New England Conservatory as a student of Reneé Krimsier. She performed in Symphony Hall and collaborated with Eureka Ensemble, an outreach-based orchestra. Kate began at The Hartt School, studying with Janet Arms. While at Hartt, she performed with the Hartt Orchestra and the contemporary ensemble Foot in Door. As a dedicated teacher, Kate is a faculty member at Groton Hill Music Center, Hopkinton Center for the Arts, and the All Newton Music School.
