About the event
This is a cast callout for Project Empathy! If you are interested in being considered, please email AIantosca@fhperry.com no later than May 15, 2023.
Project Empathy is a performance piece in which people are tasked with telling one another’s true, life-changing stories. We’re seeking up to 8 people who each have a strong sense of self, the willingness to be open with one another, and a powerful story to tell.
Each person will be paired up with another cast member and tasked with telling each other’s stories. Leading up to the performance, the cast will engage in empathy exercises, reflective writing, and monologue workshopping to build trust and empathy.
No previous acting experience is necessary—just a positive, open mindset and a dedication to your fellow Company Members. Rehearsals will start mid-June and will be no more than 4 hours total per week. Rehearsals will maintain a summer schedule for July and August. The performance will be September 29 and 30, 2023.
Created by Catherine Cote in 2017 in Melbourne, Australia, Project Empathy has been performed by several casts since all up and down the east coast of the United States. The Hopkinton Center for the Arts Project Empathy will be co-directed by Kelly Grill and Allison Iantosca.
Upon receipt of your interest, we will schedule a twenty minute “story telling” interview to be held May 21 or May 25. After interviews are completed we will notify you by June 1, 2023 if we can extend an invitation to you to join our Project Empathy Company.
We can’t wait to find our team!
